Our history

The rise of a global player

AXA Assistance Group was formed in 1998 when two major international assistance providers, UAP and Gesa assistance merged.

The AXA Group, with headquarters in Paris, is the world's second largest insurer and one of the biggest organisations in the world. Our clients have the confidence of working in partnership with a truly blue chip organisation.

As a global assistance business, AXA Assistance operates one of the most comprehensive networks of assistance service centres in the world with more than 30 sites around the globe. All of these centres are AXA Assistance owned, and are operational 24 hours a day, 365 days a year with multi-lingual staff. A worldwide agency structure supports this network of service centres giving AXA Assistance an unrivalled global reach.
